Service Description

Our sensory room is a purpose-built calming environment designed to provide immersive experiences for individuals with SEND, autism, anxiety, dementia, and other sensory processing needs. It features controlled lighting, sound, and tactile elements that can be tailored to each individual or group. The room can be set up for calming experiences (soft lighting, gentle sound, slow transitions) or stimulating experiences (colour-changing lights, interactive sound, tactile textures), depending on the needs of the person or group. Every session is facilitated by trained staff who adapt the environment in real time based on participant responses. Safety is central to everything we do in this space. Pre-session screening for photosensitive epilepsy is standard. Strobe and flashing effects are never used. All lighting changes are gradual. Staff are trained in seizure first aid and calm-down protocols. A carer or support worker is welcome to attend where needed, and the exit is always accessible and unobstructed. What you get with every session: session photos and video highlights are included, but only captured and shared with participant or carer consent. We understand the sensitivity of this environment and will always ask before documenting. The sensory room is fully accessible with step-free access from the main entrance.
